Terms and Conditions
Last Updated: September 2026
1. Introduction
These Terms and Conditions govern the services provided by OneLock Appliances Repairs & Handyman Services.
By requesting a quotation, booking a service, approving a quotation, paying a deposit or using our services, you agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions.
2. Our Services
OneLock Appliances Repairs & Handyman Services provides services including, but not limited to:
- Domestic appliance repairs;
- Commercial appliance repairs;
- Industrial appliance repairs;
- Appliance maintenance;
- Appliance installations;
- Speed Queen appliance repairs;
- General handyman services.
The availability of services may depend on location, technician availability, the nature of the work and the availability of replacement parts or materials.
3. Call-Out Fee
A call-out fee from R550 may apply to service requests.
The final call-out fee may vary depending on:
- The distance travelled;
- The customer’s location;
- Travel requirements; and
- The nature of the service request.
Customers will be informed of the applicable call-out fee before the appointment is confirmed where reasonably possible.
The call-out fee covers travel, assessment and/or attendance at the customer’s premises and may be separate from the cost of repairs, labour, replacement parts or materials unless otherwise stated in writing.
4. Quotations
All quotations are prepared based on the information available at the time of assessment.
A quotation may include:
- Labour costs;
- Replacement parts;
- Materials;
- Call-out fees;
- Installation costs; and
- Other costs necessary to complete the work.
Quotations may be revised if additional faults, damage or requirements are discovered during the inspection, repair or service process.
Where reasonably possible, customers will be informed of significant additional costs before further work is carried out.
5. 60% Upfront Deposit
A 60% upfront deposit is required for all jobs before work begins.
The remaining 40% balance is payable upon completion of the agreed work, unless another written payment arrangement has been agreed by OneLock Appliances Repairs & Handyman Services.
The deposit allows us to schedule the job, allocate resources and, where necessary, purchase replacement parts or materials.
Work may not commence until the required deposit has been received and confirmed.
6. Replacement Parts and Materials
Replacement parts and materials may be supplied by OneLock Appliances Repairs & Handyman Services or sourced from approved suppliers.
Where a customer provides their own replacement parts or materials, OneLock Appliances Repairs & Handyman Services cannot guarantee their:
- Quality;
- Suitability;
- Compatibility; or
- Performance.
Any manufacturer’s warranty on replacement parts remains subject to the terms and conditions of the relevant manufacturer or supplier.
7. Six-Month Workmanship Guarantee
OneLock Appliances Repairs & Handyman Services provides a six (6) month workmanship guarantee on qualifying repair, installation and handyman services.
This guarantee covers defects or problems directly caused by the workmanship performed by our technician.
The workmanship guarantee applies only to the specific work completed by OneLock Appliances Repairs & Handyman Services.
The guarantee does not cover:
- Normal wear and tear;
- New or unrelated faults;
- Pre-existing faults not related to the work performed;
- Damage caused by misuse, negligence or incorrect use;
- Electrical power surges;
- Water damage;
- Pest or insect damage;
- Accidental damage;
- Manufacturer defects;
- Failure of parts due to causes unrelated to our workmanship;
- Repairs, modifications or interference by another technician or third party after our work has been completed; or
- Damage caused by circumstances beyond our reasonable control.
Customers must notify us as soon as reasonably possible if they believe there is a problem with the workmanship.
Where a valid workmanship claim is established, OneLock Appliances Repairs & Handyman Services will assess the issue and take reasonable steps to rectify workmanship-related defects.
8. Pensioner Repeat Customer Promotion
OneLock Appliances Repairs & Handyman Services offers a 10% discount to qualifying pensioners who are repeat customers.
The 10% Pensioner Repeat Customer Discount is available on the 15th of every month.
To qualify for this promotion, the customer must meet both of the following requirements:
- The customer must be a pensioner; and
- The customer must be a repeat customer who has previously used and paid for services provided by OneLock Appliances Repairs & Handyman Services.
The promotion is therefore not available to first-time customers.
Customers may be required to provide reasonable proof of pensioner status and/or previous customer status.
The 10% discount must be requested or confirmed before payment is made and cannot be applied retrospectively.
Unless otherwise agreed in writing, the discount applies to the qualifying service charge and excludes:
- Call-out fees;
- Replacement parts;
- Materials;
- Third-party costs; and
- Any other charges specifically excluded from the promotion.
The discount cannot be combined with another promotion or discount unless expressly stated by OneLock Appliances Repairs & Handyman Services.
OneLock Appliances Repairs & Handyman Services reserves the right to amend or discontinue the promotion, subject to applicable law and reasonable notice.
9. Customer Responsibilities
Customers are responsible for:
- Providing accurate information about the appliance or service required;
- Providing safe and reasonable access to the property and appliance;
- Informing us of known faults, damage or hazards;
- Ensuring that the appliance is available for inspection or repair;
- Ensuring that electricity, water or other required services are available where necessary;
- Keeping children and pets away from the work area for safety reasons.
10. Additional Faults and Additional Work
During an inspection or repair, additional faults may be discovered that were not visible or identifiable during the initial assessment.
Where additional work or costs are required, we will communicate this to the customer before proceeding where reasonably possible.
Additional repairs may require a revised quotation and may be subject to additional payment requirements.
11. Cancellation and Rescheduling
Customers should provide reasonable notice if they need to cancel or reschedule an appointment.
Where replacement parts or materials have already been ordered, purchased or specifically prepared for a customer’s job, applicable costs may be charged.
Deposits may be subject to deductions for costs already incurred, including materials, parts, travel or administrative costs, where permitted by applicable law.
12. Delays
While we make reasonable efforts to complete work within agreed timeframes, delays may occur due to circumstances beyond our reasonable control.
These may include:
- Delays in obtaining replacement parts;
- Supplier delays;
- Load shedding or power interruptions;
- Weather conditions;
- Customer availability;
- Unforeseen technical faults;
- Access restrictions; or
- Other circumstances beyond our reasonable control.
We will provide reasonable updates where significant delays occur.
13. Payment
The required 60% deposit must be paid before work begins.
The remaining balance must be paid upon completion of the agreed work, unless another written arrangement has been approved.
A receipt or proof of payment may be required.
Where payment remains outstanding, OneLock Appliances Repairs & Handyman Services reserves the right, where legally permitted, to:
- Delay further work;
- Withhold the release or return of goods where applicable and legally permitted; and
- Take reasonable steps to recover outstanding amounts.
14. Customer Property and Appliances
Customers remain responsible for ensuring that their appliances and property are appropriately insured.
OneLock Appliances Repairs & Handyman Services will take reasonable care when handling customer appliances and property.
We are not responsible for losses or failures resulting from hidden faults, pre-existing defects or circumstances beyond our reasonable control.

However, we cannot accept responsibility for losses or damage resulting from:
- Pre-existing defects;
- Hidden or undisclosed faults;
- Incorrect use of appliances after service;
- Damage caused by third parties;
- Circumstances beyond our reasonable control.
Nothing in these Terms and Conditions is intended to limit or exclude rights that customers may have under applicable South African consumer protection laws.
